I super suck @ details and remembering stuff so i guess this is a great way to keep up with my sucky memory.
I wish i had started this a couple years ago.. I had gone through alot of ups and downs and on a total emotional roller coaster that blogging probably would have helped me keep sane, thank goodness for my daughter and a loving earthly Father who continued to give me a FATHERS BLESSING, he just knew and I just LOVE that!
One Sunday in July after we had visited with my in-laws we headed back to my parents home. My Dad was having one of his many many one on ones with my daughter and asked her to go get Mommy and Daddy. We sat in my parents living room w/my parents and daughter and my Dad starts to talk to us. He says he's been thinking about us alot lately and he didn't get to talk to us before we had left the last time and had felt inspired to talk to us now. He continued going on about how much he prays for us and always puts our name in @ the temple and how @ there last ward conf. they spoke on the priesthood and how we shouldn't wait for those to ask us for blessings to give them. If we feel inspired to do so, that we should. He also said he didn't want this oppurtunity to pass. He turned to my husband and asked "Chris, can I give you a Fathers Blessing?" My husband said Yes without hesitation. My Dad went on to say that as he was talking to baby one of the things she said to him was "Papa you know what i wish for?" What bby "I really wish my Daddy can walk again that's my only wish" he continues on with tears in his eyes saying I can not give you a blessing unless you let me and that through your faithfulness and obedience that these blessings can come to pass. The spirit was so strong in the room.
As my dad gave my husband a blessing I remembered as clear as day a dream i had once had a couple years back that I've only shared w/a few of my sisters and of course my husband. A voice saying that my husband will be able to walk again but it was through his faithfulness and his obedience that he would do so. It was sooo real and I felt that again as my Father was giving my husband a blessing.
My Dad ended his blessing with Father I ask thee for a favor that you would grant my granddaughter Shlayna her wish that her Dad could walk again and it was so moving and not a dry eye in the room. I could not hold back the tears.
My Father has always been my hero, while growing up I wanted to go every where he went. He has such a BIG HEART and serves unconditionally without question. He has shown his love for us and teaches thru his actions and his examples.
“Every father, having children born to him under the covenant,
is to them as a patriarch, and he has the right to bless his posterity
in the authority of the Priesthood which he holds.” Elder John A. Widtsoe
I can go on and on about the blessings of the priesthood and how it has blessed my life, because it has but I won't.. the Priesthood is BEAUTIFUL, its a blessing from our Heavenly Father himself the POWER to act in his name and this I testify is true.
tears* love it sis!
